BASIC CLASSES:
1. INTRODUCTION TO PERSONAL COMPUTERS - EVELYN MORGAN, INSTRUCTOR

3. BUYING COMPUTERS AND DIGITAL DEVICES – A. J. LINDSEY, INSTRUCTOR
October 9, Tuesday 1:00 to 3:00 P.M.
This class will explore how to buy a computer without having to know a lot of technical words, numbers and confusing terms. A salesperson can spot a non-technical customer immediately and start adding on many items and services that are not needed.
The digital market is constantly changing, so today's advice, may change quickly. Digital cameras are changing as fast as computers, in this class you will learn what to look for in buying a digital camera.
You cannot buy based on a brands' reputation because brands are constantly being sold or merged. Even if the brands" ownership is consistent, there has been bad runs of products. This class will help you identify :lemon" products.
4. BASIC E-MAIL – DAVID SCHERREY, INSTRUCTOR

5. HOW TO BURN A CD – A. J. LINDSEY, INSTRUCTOR
October 16, Tuesday 1:00 to 3:00 P.M.
This class is not about setting fire to something. The "burn" expression comes from the laser that is used to create a CD or DVD. This class will teach you how to create music or data CD's and DVD's.
Copyright issues will also be discussed.

INTERMEDIATE AND ADVANCED CLASSES:
1. CREATE A CALENDAR – B. R. BLACK, INSTRUCTOR
Sept. 20, Oct. 4 and 11 (No class on Sept. 27 – Use time to work on calendar project.)
Classes on Thursday 2:00 to 4:00 P.M.
This is an Intermediate Level class. Participants should have completed the Basic Computer class, know how to modify an existing Excel or OpenOffice spreadsheet and possess basic image manipulation skills. The first class will introduce a range of simple and more complex calendars. Students will review several calendar templates provided to fit a variety of skill levels. Duplication methods, costs and time required for producing multiple calendars for a club or church group will be discussed. The second and third class sessions are “hands-on.” Using computer generated pages, old photos, children's artwork, scanned images and even stickers, students will combine the various elements to decorate calendar pages and assemble calendars. Students with more advanced computer skills may wish to consider a 13 picture calendar, with photos, (digital or paper) or other artwork. One picture will be used for the cover. Suggestion: If you already have a project in mind, bring your digital images you plan to use on a CD or a thumb drive. You may also bring photos or other artwork to class and use the classroom scanner to transfer images to a CD or thumb drive.
2. POWERPOINT – JIM PHELPS, INSTRUCTOR
Oct. 17, 24 & 31
Classes on Wednesdays 9:30 to 11:30 A.M.
This is an Intermediate Level class. Participants should have either completed the Basic Computer Class or the equivalent, feel comfortable using computer applications (email word processing, etc.) and have some experience with Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint.
The class will help you improve your presentations using PowerPoint. Topics typically include:
* Working with themes, master slides & layouts
* Design tips for text
* Using graphics
* Simple animations
* Basic presentation skills while using PowerPoint
* Publishing handouts, and presentations on the Web
3. BUYING AND SELLING ON E-BAY AND AMAZON – A. J. LINDSEY, INSTRUCTOR
