This schedule contains the two new classes, Ebay and Blogging, corrections to some times and hopefully is accurate.

JANUARY THROUGH APRIL – 2008
Beginning Classes
1. Introduction to Personal Computers
Session 1: January 22, 24, 29, 31 @ 9:30-11:30a.m. (8 hours total class time)
Intended for students who have little or no knowledge of computers; emphasis will be on learning to interact with the computer using keyboard and mouse. Also: creating and editing files, using Yahoo! Email, and simple graphics editing. (Windows XP not Vista)
2. Beginning Word Processing
Session 1: February 5, 7, 12, 14 @ 9:30-11:30a.m. (8 hours total class time)
Intended for students who have completed Intro to PCs (above); learn more about how to use a keyboard to type, change, and enhance your documents (think letters, poems, the great American novel, even recipes!).
3. Intro to the Internet
Session 1: February 19, 21, 26, 28 @ 9:30-11:30a.m. (8 hours total class time)
A beginning course in using the Internet intended for students who have completed Intro to PCs with knowledge of the keyboard and mouse. Learn how to “surf” the web and use Search Engines to find information; learn to download programs, pictures, etc.
4. Beginning Email
Session 1: March 4, 6 @ 9:30-11:30a.m. (4 hours total class time)
Intended for students who have completed Intro to PCs and Intro to the Internet. Learn general techniques of using email using Yahoo! Email.
5. Introduction to Personal Computers (same as 1 above)
Session 2: March 11, 13, 18, 20 @ 9:30-11:30a.m.
6. Beginning Word Processing (same as 2 above)
Session 2: March 25, 27, April 1, 3 @ 9:30-11:30a.m.
7. Intro to the Internet (same as 3 above)
Session 2: April 8, 10, 15, 17 @ 9:30-11:30a.m.
8. Beginning Email (same as 4 above)
Session 2: April 22, 24 @ 9:30-11:30a.m.

9. Tune Up Your PC (Microsoft Vista) (1 class only)
Wednesday, January 23 @ 9:30-11:30a.m.
Learn how to make your Microsoft Vista PC a bit less sluggish so you can begin to enjoy more of Vista’s features.
10. From Camera to Computer (1 class only; meets 2 times)
Tuesdays, January 29, February 5 @ 1:30-3:30p.m.
Learn how to work with your digital camera and how to get those great shots from the camera into the computer. Students MUST bring their camera to class; also be sure and bring the memory card and transfer cable for your camera.
11. Let’s Google! (1 class only)
Thursday, January 31 @ 1:30- 3:30p.m.
Learn how to use this renowned search tool: a little about the search engine and a little about some of the Google’s special features to help you find things on the Web.
12. Downloading OpenOffice (1 class only)
Tuesday, February 12 @ 1:30-3:30p.m.
Learn how to download the open source Office Suite program Open Office (we will use the word processing program but the suite includes drawing, spreadsheet, slideshow (presentation), and database applications also). Learn at the library then take the CD home and load on your OWN home computer.
13. Movies, Slide Shows and More! (1 class only; meets 2 times)
Tuesdays, February 19, 26 @ 1:30-3:30p.m.
Learn how to use the Windows Movie Maker on YOUR PC to make movies and slide shows with music, etc. Yes, this program is on your Windows PC! Put YOUR digital pictures and videos in a great easy-to-watch show. Add music and narration easily.
14. Fighting Computer Viruses for FREE using AVG (1 class only)
Thursday, February 21 @ 1:30-3:30p.m.
Learn about the FREE anti-virus program AVG that will keep your PC protected without paying heavy fees to Norton or McAfee.
15. Buying and Selling on eBay and Amazon (1 class only)
Tuesday, February 26 @ 6:30-8:30p.m.
Learn how to buy and sell online using eBay and Amazon. Lecture class.
16. Have your say on the Web: Create your own Blog! (1 class only)
Tuesday, March 25 @ 1:30-3:30p.m.
